Daily Mail — An 18-year-old homecoming queen was named as one of five dead after severing flooding hit Texas and Oklahoma this weekend.

Alyssa Ramirez, 18, was on her way home from high school prom in Devine, Texas on Saturday night when her car became stuck in rising waters.

She called 911 and her father for help but the floods were too powerful and her car was swept away. Her body was recovered on Sunday.

There were also fears for 12 people missing including a mother and her two young children who were swept away from their Texas vacation home during flash flooding on Sunday.

Laura McComb, 33, and her children, Leighton, four, and six-year-old Andrew, have been missing since Sunday when their vacation river home was swept away by the surging waters which reached triple their normal flooding level in Wimberley, Texas.
